Bring Me To Life

Ok so here’s some more progress shots of what’s currently going down.
Got all the scenes roughed out and I’m currently just going through modelling into and texturing the building working out which buildings are going to need modelling to help push the bump maps and others which are just seen at a distance are just going to be bumped
So here’s a couple of overview shots of the scenes roughed out:

These are overviews off all the components in each scene as well as the original concept picture roughed out in Maya then another overview of extra models added which don’t feature in the original concept sketches, but were needed to give the city a more full closed in feeling.
Scene 1:
(Which I’d already began to model into)

Then here’s a little bit of the texturing which has been underway:
With a few textures added to the foreground already along with parts modelled in

Modeling detail and texturing the building

More texture added and the building fully modelled with UV Layout grid visable on the interior floor as due to the open plan type appearance of the building the interior also had to be textured (note to self don’t do that again...)

Creating the texture map in Photoshop

Building imported back into main Maya file with the rest of the scene

So with regard to what’s next I’m going to texture and model more detail into the building marked with red X’s then texture the rest of the buildings and go back and create bump and specula maps for everything :)

Then move onto scene 2 and repeat the process however I might start creating the bump spec and texture maps at the same way and see if it makes it quicker/easier
Then onto scene 3 and the additional buildings which I’m hoping to have done by the time Christmas is over which just leaves the lighting and creating sky and creating background mountains and more buildings on image planes to make the city look far more vast that the model is.

Also forgot to add the reason the tops of the models are white is there untextures so far due to the fact I'm going to paint snow into the textures but I wana have an unsnowed version to use if i need to vary the bump map from the texture etc but im going to attack that once I've got the first scene good and textured.

It's scientists and NASA's views on 2012 and PlanetX/Niburu. Worth reading actually.
